Less time managing connections: 1.1.0 moves to cloud sync

When checking the connection comes before pasting

You copy a link on your phone to use on your Mac, but first have to check whether the devices are connected. That extra step is exactly the friction Clipdoggy set out to reduce.

We started with BLE for nearby devices, but unreliable connections interrupted the workflow. In 1.1.0, BLE is temporarily unavailable while we improve its stability, and direct Wi-Fi transfers have ended. BLE will return in a future update after sufficient improvement and testing.

One account, even on different networks

Cloud Sync was already available in earlier versions. This update unifies the transfer methods around it rather than introducing it for the first time. Sign in with the same Google account on Mac and Android to connect your devices.

Your devices no longer need to be nearby or on the same Wi-Fi network. They can exchange content across different networks when each has internet access. Internet access and sign-in are currently required, while BLE and local Wi-Fi transfers are unavailable. BLE support will return after stability improvements are complete.

Beyond text and images: files

Version 1.1.0 adds file transfers in both directions, including PDFs and documents. Copy a file on your Mac, or choose Clipdoggy from the share menu on Android. Android file transfers use the share menu rather than ordinary text copying.

A file received on Mac goes onto the clipboard so you can paste it into Finder. The per-file transfer limit in 1.1.0 is 10 MB. Update both the sending and receiving devices to version 1.1.0 or later.

Find what arrived and put it to work

On Mac, we added Paste Stack for pasting several clips in order, OCR search for text inside images, a separate preview window, inline editing, and custom categories. Image text recognition runs on your Mac.

On Android, tap a history item to preview text, images, or files full screen, then save or copy from the preview. We have improved not only moving content between devices, but finding and using it afterward.

Security and everyday refinements

We strengthened end-to-end encryption for content sent through the cloud. BLE is temporarily unavailable for stability improvements, and removing local Wi-Fi transfers reduced related permission requests. We will thoroughly test stability and security before bringing BLE back.

Hindi brings app support to six languages. We fixed a briefly empty panel when first using a Mac shortcut, incorrect language display on some Android devices, and crashes caused by unreadable shared files.

Getting started if you already use Clipdoggy

Update both apps and, for now, sign in with the same Google account on Mac and Android. Check that both devices have internet access and try sending a short piece of text. BLE will return in a future update after stability improvements and testing are complete.

The goal is simple: carry what you copied into your next device without constantly thinking about the connection method. We will keep focusing on making that experience more reliable.

The Mac date follows the App Store date attribute. Google Play lists the update date as 2026-08-31.
